presentfromthefuture
We know there’s no such thing as a sustainable company.
The supply chains of today’s status quo are inextricably linked to an unsustainable economic system. But we do know there are products and services that are oriented in the right direction, serving as indicators, hints, gifts, presents from a sustainable future.
“Presents” are products made as best as we can do for now. Our objective is to consistently iterate and integrate new ideas, processess, materials as they become commercially available to continue shifting linear consumption towards circularity and regeneration.
Why bags?
Plastic packaging accounts for the most disposed single-use plastics in the world. The most of which are plastic bags accounting for 5 trillion a year according to factretriever.com.
Here are the things we can currently embrace:
Deadstock
Each bag is made out of materials found or sourced from a dead-end. Sometimes from local NYC cut&sew shops, scrap suppliers like Fabscrap in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, or other tote bag companies with malfunctioning units.
Each present is manufactured in the United States, either in NYC, Virginia, or Kentucky. We’ve literally shaken hands with the people that made your bag.
We exist to challenge the normalcy of overconsumption. Buying more is not the answer, buying intentionally is. We’re here to scale mindsets not products.
Presents are machine washable and have been strength tested to carry 50 pounds for 24 hours.
